Ferrari Trento Named Official Toast of the Italy Pavilion at EXPO 2025 Osaka

Ferrari Trento reaffirms its status as Italy’s premier toast, chosen to celebrate
Italy’s most significant occasions
Ferrari Trento, an icon of Italian sparkling wine and ambassador of the Italian Art of Living, will be the official toast of the Italy Pavilion at EXPO 2025 Osaka. This partnership offers a remarkable opportunity to showcase, on an international stage, the core values of sustainability, excellence, and innovation that define the Gruppo Lunelli, in line with the Universal Exhibition’s theme, “Designing Future Society for Our Lives”, and the Italy Pavilion’s theme, “Art Regenerates Life”. The latter pays homage also to the role of winemakers in sculpting the landscape and to wine as a storyteller of beauty, heritage, and tradition.
“Ferrari Trento represents an Italian excellence in the wine sector: a corporate success story born from passion, tradition, and a constant pursuit of quality. Values that perfectly align with the theme of this universal exposition, ‘Designing Future Society for Our Lives,’ and with the message that the Italy Pavilion aims to convey: ‘Art regenerates life’” stated the General Commissioner, Amb. Mario Vattani. “Wine and fine cuisine are a central part of ‘Italian living’: these are a key driver for the development of our country’s system. The positive numbers recorded by Italian wine export to Japan confirm our commitment to bring the traditions and excellence of ‘Made in Italy’ to this global stage, in order to foster the internationalization of Italian companies.”
“Participating in EXPO 2025 Osaka and once again supporting the Italy Pavilion, as we did at EXPO 2015 Milano, is a great source of pride for us and reaffirms our role as Italy’s quintessential toast. Japan is a country I hold dear and an important market for Ferrari Trento; therefore, I am delighted by this opportunity to further strengthen the bond that unites us. We wish to honour, in alignment with the theme of the Italy Pavillion, the mastery and the unique ability to interlace art and science, which are deeply embedded in both cultures” stated Matteo Lunelli, President and CEO of Ferrari Trento.
The deep-rooted relationship between Ferrari Trento and Japan is evidence of shared values of craftsmanship and refinement. In 2019, the winery dedicated a special Trentodoc, Ferrari Hommage, to Japan, commemorating the dawn of the Reiwa imperial era. Its label, featuring motifs inspired by Japanese art and aesthetics, including delicate traditional fans, reflects the fusion of Italian elegance and Eastern refinement. Ferrari Hommage, selected in April 2019 to welcome Japanese Prime Minister to Rome, will be offered to guests at the Italy Pavilion during EXPO 2025 Osaka.
To further enhance this cultural dialogue, Ferrari Trento has created an exclusive furoshiki, the traditional Japanese fabric wrap used to encase gifts and objects. Designed in collaboration with Progetto Quid, an innovative Italian social enterprise, this unique piece embodies a shared commitment to sustainability. Much like the Japanese tradition of the furoshiki, which repurposes fine textiles with artistry, Progetto Quid breathes new life into luxury fabrics, following the principles of the circular economy. At the same time, it provides employment and training opportunities to individuals in vulnerable circumstances, restoring dignity and autonomy through craftsmanship.
Ferrari Trentodoc will take center stage at the Italy Pavilion’s most prestigious institutional occasions. The inaugural toast will be raised on April 13, during the opening ceremony, followed closely by the “Made in Italy National Day” celebrations on April 15. Among the highlights of the Pavilion’s program is the JET Cup, Japan’s most prestigious sommelier competition dedicated to Italian wines, now in its seventeenth year, which Ferrari Trento has proudly supported since its first edition. Underscoring the importance of this competition, Takuma Yamada, the 2024 JET Cup winner and sommelier at the Palace Hotel in Tokyo, has been named one of the Ambassadors of the Italy Pavilion for his role in promoting Italian wine culture in Japan.

Ferrari Trento promotes a culture of drinking responsibly which is part of the Italian Art of Living.
