Ferrari Trento awarded by Wine Enthusiast

A new confirmation of the excellence of Ferrari Trento comes from Wine Enthusiast, one of the most popular American magazines in the world and an international point of reference for the wine sector, which once again this year assessed the Trentino winery’s labels with scores above 90 points.

Italy correspondent Jeff Porter tasted seven Ferrari wines, awarding the highest score of 97/100 to the Giulio Ferrari Rosé 2010, and 96 points to the Ferrari Perlé Nero Riserva 2016 and the Giulio Ferrari Riserva del Fondatore 2012.

The Giulio Ferrari Rosé 2010 has been defined “unforgettable”, characterized by harmonious balance for its finesse, flavor intensity and creamy texture, while the Giulio Ferrari Riserva del Fondatore 2012 amazed for its unparalleled complexity, for its vibrant acidity and a mineral backbone. The perlage is fine and persistent, allowing the finish to be endless.

The Perlé Nero Riserva 2016 was described as a bubble with an immediate richness, whose aromas of cooked fruit and lemon peel strike a pose on the palate.  Hints of crème fraiche and berries surprise on the finish, where pure mountain minerality concludes the sip.

The 2017 vintage of Ferrari Perlé and Ferrari Perlé Rosé were crowned with 95 points, while the Brut and Rosé wines, both from Classic Line, were rated 91 and 93 points each.

The highlight of the Ferrari Perlé is its predisposition to longevity and the ability to evolve after long aging on the lees, thanks to its complexity and depth. For the Rosé version, the journalist pointed out the fragrant bouquet on the nose of juicy strawberries, delicate rose petals and hints of freshly baked brioche that does not presage the combination of red berries and crunchy apples that amazes at the taste.

The variations Brut and Rosé of the Classic Line obtained equally satisfactory tasting results: the Rosé has been defined “irresistible” for its incredible consistency given by the creaminess of its bubbles, while the Brut is a wine of which every sip calls another sip, thanks to its fine and persistent bubbles.

These excellent results, published on the magazine’s website and that will appear in the August/September print edition, reaffirm the goals already achieved in previous years’ evaluations, proving Ferrari Trento’s great qualitative consistency in creating sparkling wines of excellence. They also highlight the Trentodoc denomination internationally as ambassador of a unique territory, suited to mountain viticulture.

Ferrari Trento promotes a culture of drinking responsibly which is part of the Italian Art of Living.

It is a culture linked to the ritual nature of food and the celebration of convivial occasions, in which consumption is moderate and informed.
