Its rooms contain over five hundred years of history, beginning with the Council of Trent, when the Villa welcomed cardinals and prelates from all over Europe as well as Emperor Charles V. It is therefore no surprise that his exploits are highlighted in one of the fresco cycles that adorn the villa.
